Website Classification Tags Feed

A page, section, and domain can have different subjects. Define the classification unit before assigning a website label.

Classify at the right level.

The core idea

A whole-site classification compresses a varied publication into a broad description. Keep the evidence used for that description visible in the internal record. Page-level topics should remain available so an unusual article does not distort the scope of the entire site, or disappear under an overly broad domain label.

A workable starting pattern

Choose representative pages, document exclusions, and allow mixed scope. Evaluate labels on held-out examples from different sections. Distinguish a site’s stated purpose from your own interpretation of its published content. Review the classification when the site changes substantially rather than assuming it is permanent.

AN EXAMPLE TO THINK THROUGH

A software company’s site might contain product documentation, job listings, and a general engineering blog. The appropriate classification depends on whether the task concerns the domain, the blog, or one tutorial.

What this page does—and does not—offer

No website scoring, crawling, or classification service runs here. TagsFeed provides a framework for editorial and technical evaluation.
