RSS News Tags Feed

Combine RSS item discipline with editorial news context. Keep source identity, article dates, event dates, and corrections distinct.

A news stream with a memory.

The core idea

News collections can contain repeated coverage, updates to existing stories, and unrelated items with similar headlines. A stable source identifier is more dependable than title matching alone. Preserve the publisher’s description and make any rewritten summary a separate, reviewable field.

A workable starting pattern

Define how the collection handles new items, changed items, and items removed from the current source window. Group coverage by topic without claiming that all reports establish the same facts. Review headlines and excerpts after a material correction, and keep the original destination visible.

AN EXAMPLE TO THINK THROUGH

A revised article can retain its item identity while its body changes. A separate follow-up report should remain a separate record, even when the subject and many words in its headline resemble the earlier coverage.

What this page does—and does not—offer

This guide does not provide a hosted RSS news aggregator or live news feed. TagsFeed’s RSS contains its own editorial guides.
